music: sting - my one and only love
1 un-love quote, for those who aren't
Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses. You build up a whole armor, for years, so nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life... You give them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends' or 'how very perceptive' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a body-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. Nothing should be able to do that. Especially not love. I hate love.

3 is chivalry dead?

anne: i envy girls who have got guys who were raised well by their mothers.
oh yes. there are guys out there (and some of them are from good families!) who do not know how to hold the door open, let a girl pass first, or take her home when it's raining. the worst that has happened to me? i walked home in the rain once.
he-who-should-not-be-named (because it's an insult to my blog) once dropped me off at the train station and because i didn't have an umbrella, i took a very wet walk home. and at the address of fashionable manila (read: rockwell), no less. the guard who stood under the umbrella near ateneo grad school offered his shade but i was already wet and more than ready for home and a nice, warm shower.
on the other hand, there's this really cute, hot, sweet guy who insisted on paying for my dinner. out of his piggy bank. the contents of which were coins in 5-peso, 1-peso, 25-cent denominations. i'm not kidding. now that, my darlings, is a true gentleman.
if you can't find any, refer to the picture below.

so, people are beginning to know. it's quite a relief actually because each one counts. because those who don't know are those closest to me: by blood, by familial relations. and it does bother me that they don't know.
the truth hurts, as they say. but it will come out. and i wouldn't have it any other way.

I have to comment about number 3.
that's just definitely true.
Guys who are close to their mothers are the REAL gentleman.
Heck, even my mom brags about that :p
well i wouldn't really know. sometimes guys are rude or polite because they choose to be. regardless of their mothers.
