haha, no, that's not me! but i was there--taking this shot and a few more.anne (chavez), her brother marlon and i went to calatagan, batangas last weekend for some r&r with anne's company. it's not bora (like i'd know) but the place was lovely. we stayed at her boss' house, la casa araneta, which was a haven in itself with its med-type decor and numerous sleep-on-me couches.
i have a slight tan from beach-combing and trekking a good length of shore. we found our way to the punta de santiago lighthouse after much walking and wrestling with icky seaweed-infested waters. there wasn't a road leading up to the lighthouse from the beach so we weren't able to actually see it up close. oh well.

in the evening, we went moon-bathing/star-gazing on the beach. it was a dazzling-ly bright half moon but the stars were also out with all their twinkl-y glory. i think i missed two shooting stars because i was looking at the freaky star that was doing loops. i swear.
then, because i am such a spoiled brat with a terrible fondness for luxury, we had (red) wine and (pecorino) cheese. ahaha. not kidding. and dark swiss chocolate. and dried apricots. oo, kikay na kung kikay. yun ang baon ko sa beach. kaya kung gusto mo ng sosi na kasama, ako ang yayain mo. o kung wala ka namang pera (katulad ko ngayon), pwede rin naman ako sa tusok-tusok the fishballs. bwehehe. yes, assumptionista ako. tigilan na nga.
as usual, more pictures at my flickr account. many thanks to anne for the invitation. i really needed the beach break. and walking on the the rocky sand reminded me of the poem that inspired the title of this blog. for all of us who love:
Talagang ganoon...
Sa dagat man, Irog, ng kaligayahan,
lahat, pati puso,
ay naaagnas ding marahang-marahan..
